Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd is the Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) for the Sunshine Coast region. The organisation came into existence on 1 July 2010 and commence operations on 26 July 2010, following the Sunshine Coast Regional Council's review of the structure of tourism organisations on the coast.

The result of this review was the formation of a new regional body to represent the needs of the Sunshine Coast region. Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd now incorporates the fomer bodies of Caloundra Tourism Inc and discovermaroochy.com. In addition, the organisation has partnered with Tourism Noosa Ltd under a Service Level Agreement whereby Tourism Noosa will deliver the services for the Northern Region. The Sunshine Coast Hinterland is also encompassed with a Destination Manager within Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd responsible for the marketing and promotion of that area.

The Sunshine Coast includes the area from the Glass House Mountains in the south, to Rainbow Beach in the North. and a lush hinterland to our West.  The region is a diverse one with Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Coolum, Noosa and Rainbow Beach providing world class beach experiences and the Blackall Range, Noosa Hinterland and Mary Valley offering visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in our tranquil hinterland.

Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd provides the strategic direction for the destination and undertakes brand and tactical marketing activities, planning and development projects as well as promoting the region as a Business Events destination.

Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd's core role is to promote the Sunshine Coast as a premier holiday and Business Events destination locally, nationally and internationally, to achieve maximum social and economic benefit for the local community, residents and businesses.
